A Kind Man's Love
August 08, 2026
Passage: Luke 10:25-37
One day Jesus told a story to a scribe, a man who knew many things about God's law. Jesus' story explained how to love God and other people.
Jesus said that a man was traveling when some robbers took the man's clothes, hurt him, and left him on the side of the road. A priest walked by. The priest saw the hurt man, but he just crossed the road and kept going. Then another church helper walked by and saw the hurt man. But he, too, crossed the road and kept going.
Then a man from another place called Samaria came down the road. When this man saw the hurt man, he felt sad for him. The Samaritan man stopped to help. He cleaned the hurt man's cuts and put medicine and bandages on them. Then the kind man put the hurt man on his donkey and took him to an inn where the man could rest.
The kind man from Samaria gave the innkeeper some money and told him, “Take care of this hurt man. If you need more money, I will give it to you when I come back."
At the end of the story, Jesus asked the scribe, "Which of these three men was kind to the hurt man? Which person showed love?”
The scribe said, "The one who stopped to help the hurt man and care for him." Jesus said, "Yes. Now go and do the same. Be kind and show God's love to other people."
