The Triumphal Entry 2026

Jesus and His disciples were walking toward Jerusalem. They stopped at the Mount of Olives. “Go into the village,” Jesus told two disciples. “You will see a donkey and a colt. Untie the animals and bring them to Me. If anyone says anything, tell him I need the animals. The person will agree to let you take them.” The disciples did just as Jesus said. They found the donkey in the street, tied by a door. The disciples took the animals to Jesus, then the disciples laid their robes on the animals’ backs. Jesus sat on the robes. Then Jesus began riding into the city. As Jesus neared Jerusalem, He saw people crowding the street and the gate. The people were excited! Many people began to spread their robes on the road, and others spread leafy branches they cut from trees. The people made a path for the donkeys to walk on. The people went in front of Jesus as He rode the animals into Jerusalem. The crowds shouted praises to Jesus, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was surprised. The crowds of people kept saying, “This is Jesus! This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth.”
