The Faith Chapter

God is pleased when people know and believe Him. God wants people to trust Him because He is real and He is the one true God. The Bible tells about people who loved God and trusted what God told them. The person who wrote the book of Hebrews told about these people. All the people showed they loved God and had faith in Him. Abel gave offerings to God because he believed in God and loved Him. Noah believed God and obeyed Him. Noah had faith that God would help Noah’s family when the flood destroyed everything. Noah trusted God. God told Abraham to move to a new home. Abraham did not know where to go, but he had faith God would show him. Abraham’s wife, Sarah, trusted God to give her a child. Sarah had faith that God can do anything. Abraham’s son, Isaac, showed his faith in God and blessed his sons, Jacob and Esau. Moses trusted God when God said to leave Egypt. Joshua knew God would help the Israelites break down the walls of Jericho. That was faith. And a woman named Rahab showed her love for God, too. The Hebrews writer told about other people—Samuel, Jacob, David—who pleased God because they had faith in Him.
