Passage: James 1:1-5:20

James was a church leader in Jerusalem. James cared about the people in the churches. James wanted the people to understand how to live in a way that pleased God and to obey what the Bible teaches. James told the church friends to think about God and ask Him to help them know the right things to do. James wrote, “Dear Brothers, understand what I am writing. Listen, speak wisely, don’t be angry. Be doers, not just hearers.” James told the church people to take care of widows and children without parents. James reminded the people that God loves everyone. “If you love your neighbor as much as you love yourself, you are doing well,” said James. James knew people’s actions showed whether they loved God. James told the people to think about God and obey Him. Finally, James helped the church people think about the importance of talking to God. James said if anyone is sick or sad or not doing what is right, we should pray for that person. James told the people that their actions showed their love and trust in God. James reminded the church people to do what is good and help one another.
