To know that my spiritual family here at the church was able to help me get through arguably my greatest personal challenge [and] public personal challenge means a lot. It allows you to redefine family and I'm at a point now where I'm so far delivered and removed that I strive to make sure that I can be that type of vessel or asset for anybody else.

One night, Jesus and His disciples were in the garden where they often met. Judas, one of the men whom Jesus chose to be a disciple, was in the garden waiting for Jesus. Soldiers and officials were in the garden, too. It was dark, and the men held lanterns and torches. The officials arrested Jesus and took Him away. The officials asked Jesus questions about who He was and what He had been telling the people. The officials and people listening to Jesus did not like the things Jesus said. Many people were angry with Jesus. They wanted to be rid of Him. The people hurt Jesus, made fun of Him, called Him names, and said hurtful things to Jesus. The angry people made Jesus get on the cross. Later that day, Jesus died on the cross. His friends were sad. They did not know what to do. Some people who loved Jesus wrapped Jesus’ body in white cloths and placed Him in a tomb in a garden. A huge stone was rolled in front of the door. Three days later, Mary Magdalene walked to the garden. She saw that the stone at the door of the tomb had been rolled away! Mary ran to find Peter and John. Mary told the men about her discovery. Peter and John ran to the tomb to see. They looked inside the tomb, but all they saw were the white cloths that had been wrapped around Jesus. Jesus was gone! He was no longer in the tomb!

Jesus and His disciples were walking toward Jerusalem. They stopped at the Mount of Olives. “Go into the village,” Jesus told two disciples. You will see a colt. Untie it and bring it to Me. If anyone says anything, tell him I need the animal. The person will agree to let you take it.” The disciples did just as Jesus said. They found the colt in the street, tied by a door. They took the animal to Jesus and laid their robes on the animal’s back. Jesus sat on the animal and began to ride into the city. When the people heard Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, they spread their robes on the road. People spread leafy branches they cut from trees. The people went in front of Jesus as He rode on the animal. The crowds shouted. “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna!” When Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem, the whole city was surprised. The crowds of people kept saying, “This is Jesus!”
