Passage: Mark 11:1-11
MARK 11:1-11
Jesus and His disciples were walking toward Jerusalem. They
stopped at the Mount of Olives.
“Go into the village,” Jesus told two disciples. “You will see a
young donkey. Untie it and bring it to Me. If anyone says anything,
tell him I need the animal. The person will agree to let you take it.”
The disciples did just as Jesus said. They found the donkey
standing in the street, tied by a door.
The man who owned the donkey asked, “Why are you untying
the donkey?”
The disciples answered, “Jesus needs it.”
Then the disciples took the animal to Jesus and laid their robes
on it. The disciples helped Jesus get on the donkey.
As Jesus sat on the donkey, He began riding to Jerusalem.
Along the way, people gathered. Many people spread their robes
on the road, and others spread leafy branches they cut from trees.
The people went in front of Jesus as He rode on the donkey.
The crowd shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the
name of the Lord! Hosanna!”
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was surprised.
The crowds of people kept saying, “This is Jesus! Glory to God!”
